Daniel Omielanczuk and Stefan Struve met in a heavyweight bout at UFC 204.This one was all Struve. In round 1, Struve was pressing forward early and Omielanczuk was trying to get his range down. Struve took him down midway through the round but Omielanczuk scrambled right back to his feet. Struve took him down again and got half guard. Omielanczuk was landing elbows from his back. Struve transitioned and got his back and worked him over with strikes to end the round. In round 2, Struve rushed him and clinched. Struve with a big knee and then a trip takedown that leads to him locking in the D’arce choke for the win.

Struve (32-8) is currently on a two-fight winning streak. In his last five bouts, he’s 3-3. He lost to Mark Hunt in March of 2013 by third-round TKO and then lost to Alistair Overeem in December of 2014 by first-round knockout. He beat Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 190 by unanimous decision. He lost to Jared Rosholt by unanimous decision at UFC 193. He beat Antonio Silva at UFC Fight Night 87 by first-round KO. He beat Daniel Omielanczuk at UFC 204 by submission.

Omielanczuk (19-6-1) is currently on a one -fight losing streak. In his last six bouts, he’s 3-3. He lost to Jared Rosholt at UFC Fight Night 39 by decision, Anthony Hamilton at UFC Fight Night 64 by decision but then beat Chris De La Rocha at UFC Fight Night 72 by first round TKO, Jaris Danho at UFC Fight Night 94 by decision and then Alexey Oleynik at UFC Fight Night 91 by decision.
