Joe Warren targeted to return at Bellator 161


Former Bellator featherweight and bantamweight champion Joe Warren is targeted to return against Sirwan Kakai in the co-main event of Bellator 161, which takes place on September 16 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, Texas.

The fight joins a main card that features a heavyweight main event pitting French phenom Cheick Kongo (24-10-2) against the streaking Tony Johnson (10-2). Additional main and preliminary contests will be announced shortly.

Warren (13-5) is currently on a one-fight losing streak. In his last six bouts, he’s 4-2. He beat Travis Marx at Bellator 107 by second round TKO, Rafael Silva at Bellator 118 by decision, and Eduardo Dantas at Bellator 128 by decision. He lost to Marcos Galvao at Bellator 135 by second round kneebar, but rebounded with a decision win over LC Davis at Bellator 143. He lost to Darrion Caldwell at Bellator 151 by first round submission.
