Dominick Cruz doesn’t care who he fights next

Dominick Cruz (21-1) returned in a big way at UFC Fight Night 81 when he beat T.J. Dillashaw (13-3) to regain the bantamweight title. This marked his second fight in four years due to injuries.

Cruz explained following the fight that the UFC and media members are already asking about when his next fight will be. Cruz, who had a foot injury going into the fight, said that he doesn’t care who his next will be against or when it will be.

“Nothing really belongs to you, because once you hold the belt up, Dana (White), Lorenzo (Fertitta), everybody, the media, are coming up with three other matchups for you,” Cruz said at UFC Fight Night 81’s post-fight press conference. “There’s people yelling at you, there’s a target on your back.

“I haven’t even gotten a pat on the back for the win, and I’m already getting asked who I’m fighting next. Just let me win; let me be here. I’ll worry about who I’m fighting next when it comes. I don’t care.”

UFC Fight Night 81 takes place Sunday, January 17th, 2016, at TD Garden in Boston. The event will be shown on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
