Anderson Silva: I’m very happy that the UFC gave me one more chance to fight again

Anderson Silva is set to fight Uriah Hall at UFC 198 in a middleweight bout and recently spoke about the upcoming fight.

“Yeah, of course (I could fight until the end of my contract,” Silva told FOX Sports. “I love training. I love martial arts. I love my job. That’s it,” Silva said.

“Of course, I’m very happy UFC gave me one more chance to fight again. I think this is very important for me to take back some time for my fights. I’m very happy, I’m very excited,” Silva said.

“I’m very happy. I’m very excited. It’s my dream to fight in Brazil in my country, in my city. My career started here. I’m very happy and this is very important for my legacy and my story fighting in the UFC now.”

Silva (33-7-1) is currently on a one-fight losing streak. He 1-3-1 in his last five  bouts. He beat Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153 by first round KO. He lost to Chris Weidman at UFC 162 by second round KO and then again to Chris Weidman at UFC 168 by second round TKO. His fight with Nick Diaz at UFC 183 went to a no contest. He lost to Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 84 by unanimous decision.

UFC 198 takes place on May 14th at the 40,000-seat Arena da Baixada in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil. The prelims will begin on UFC Fight Pass at 6:15 p.m. ET with four bouts. There will be another four prelim bouts that begin at 8 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1. The main card kicks off on PPV at 10 p.m. ET with five bouts.
